You can register your favorite applications and launch an application by clicking a menu item. Control menu![]() When you press a left icon in a titlebar, this control menu is shown. You can move, resize, minimize, maximize, and close a window using this menu. Pager![]() This pager is a small map of a whole virtual screen. When you left-button-click it, an active page is switched to a mouse-pointing page. When you middle-button-click and drag a small window, you can move a real window. When you right-button-click and drag the active page, you can switch virtual pages frexibly, not by page unit. Taskbar![]() The taskbar is located in the bottom, top, left, or rihgt of the screen. This screenshot is one of the bottom or top, but here is one of the left or right. It has the start button, taskbar buttons, and the taskbar box. A taskbar button corresponds with a real window, and you can activate a window by clicking it. When there are many taskbar buttons, you can make the taskbar height thick like this. Taskbar box![]() The taskbar box is in the taskbar. In this example, it has two indicators (xload and qvapm) and a clock. As a indicator, it is also useful to use xbiff, etc. This clock displays hour and minite, but you can make the clock display year, day, second, etc. like this. Task switcher![]() When you press Alt + Tab by default, this task switcher is shown. Keep pressing Alt, press Tab again, and release Alt and Tab if your favorite application is selected. And the application is activated. Exit dialog![]() When you quit qvwm, this exit dialog is shown. Select your favorite way from some exit ways and press a Yes button. If you want to cancel to quit qvwm, press a No button. Titlebar with gradation![]() This is a titlebar with color gradation. If you specify two colors of both sides, qvwm creates beautiful gradation like this. But this routine is rather slow and you need a fast machine. Window frame decoration![]() Qvwm supports various window frame decorations. Some windows have a titlebar, some have outer shade, and some have inner shade. |
